Setoworks Co., Ltd., led by CEO Cho Choong-Yeon, announced its participation in the 99th Tokyo Gift Show (Spring Edition), held from February 12 to 14 at Tokyo Big Sight. The company facilitated the entry and expansion of distribution channels for outstanding Korean small businesses, startups, and SMEs into the Japanese market.
The Tokyo Gift Show is Asia’s largest consumer goods trade fair, attracting over 200,000 visitors annually. Held biannually in spring and autumn, it serves as a global business platform with participation from 3,000 companies worldwide. This year’s event saw a 30% increase in attendees compared to the previous year, featuring a diverse array of products across categories such as innovative goods, household items, fashion, toys, electronics, and kitchenware.
Setoworks established both integrated and individual booths within the Japan Pavilion, showcasing approximately 10 new products from Korean small businesses and SMEs. These products included items not yet officially distributed in Japan and those introduced through global crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter (USA), Makuake (Japan), and ZecZec (Taiwan). The exhibition garnered significant interest from Japanese home shopping networks, major trading companies, and retail vendors.

During the exhibition, Setoworks engaged in consultations with approximately 700 buyers, receiving positive feedback regarding the potential for distributing the showcased products within Japan. Some products even secured immediate purchase intent on-site. A representative from Duckeyworld, who participated alongside Setoworks, expressed satisfaction, stating, “It felt like we met all the buyers we had been hoping to connect with in just one day.” They added, “We conducted numerous export consultations with discerning Japanese buyers through this Tokyo Gift Show.”
Yamaguchi, a professional at Setoworks’ Japanese subsidiary, Xfinity Venture, explained their strategic approach: “Prior to the event, we provided product information to major buyers and distribution partners in Japan, scheduling meetings in advance. During the exhibition, we conducted direct consultations using actual product samples, which garnered high interest.” He further noted, “We plan to compile information on buyers’ industries, transaction methods, main sales channels, and desired pricing. After the event, we will provide this data to our Korean clients and continue follow-up meetings with Japanese companies to facilitate exports.”
Setoworks is a specialized trading company and global marketing agency with a track record of over 1,000 successful global crowdfunding projects on platforms like Kickstarter, Indiegogo, Makuake, and ZecZec. The company offers comprehensive services, including integration with global e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Rakuten, and Alibaba.
