Setoworks, under the leadership of CEO Jerry Cho, announced that on December 12, it received an appreciation plaque from ZecZec CEO Shen Chin. This recognition celebrates Setoworks as the first Korean company to surpass 5 billion KRW in cumulative funding on ZecZec, Taiwan’s largest crowdfunding platform.
CEO Shen Chin visited Korea to co-host the “Rapidly Growing Taiwanese Market: Special Seminar on Entering Taiwan through ZecZec,” during which he presented the plaque to Setoworks at their headquarters in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
Established in 2012, ZecZec holds a 70% share of Taiwan’s crowdfunding market, boasting over 3.3 million members and having managed more than 10,000 projects. In its 12 years, ZecZec’s cumulative funding has exceeded 13 billion TWD (approximately 570 billion KRW). The platform is favored by major Korean corporations, including Samsung and LG, as well as SMEs aiming to enter the Taiwanese market.
In late 2022, ZecZec was selected as a global partner for the Hi Seoul Friends Project, organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Business Agency (SBA), playing a pivotal role in promoting Seoul’s outstanding products in Taiwan.
CEO Shen Chin remarked, “Since 2021, ZecZec has closely collaborated with Setoworks, our exclusive Korean partner, to identify and introduce exceptional Korean startups and SMEs to the Taiwanese market through our platform.” He added, “In the coming year, we aim to showcase a more diverse array of Korean products to our innovation-seeking supporters in Taiwan, with a funding goal exceeding 10 billion KRW.” He also noted that his visit to Korea was to discuss various business programs with Setoworks.
CEO Jerry Cho of Setoworks expressed his delight, stating, “Achieving over 5 billion KRW in funding for Korean products in Taiwan through our collaboration with ZecZec is a significant milestone.” He revealed plans to strengthen their presence in the Taiwanese market by expanding the existing Setoworks permanent pop-up store in Taipei’s Da’an District and establishing ZecZec project experience zones in major Taiwanese department stores by 2025. Cho emphasized their commitment to continually expanding engagement with local buyers, sellers, and consumers.
Beyond its partnership with ZecZec, Setoworks serves as the official Korean partner for Japan’s largest crowdfunding platform and has established collaborations with China’s Modian, a subsidiary of Weibo. The company also facilitates global market entry through platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo in the U.S. Additionally, Setoworks functions as the Korean channel partner for Alibaba, the world’s largest B2B platform, and collaborates with Coupang as a global partner, encompassing a comprehensive B2B2C e-commerce system. In July of the previous year, Setoworks was designated as a specialized trading company by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, actively supporting exports for Korean SMEs and ventures.
