Watervation, an eco-friendly air and indoor air quality management company led by CEO Jung Yoon-young, has unveiled its new product, the CUE Air Washer, on the global crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. The product surpassed $50,000 (approximately KRW 75 million) within just one day of launch, according to SETOWORKS, the official Kickstarter Expert agency in the U.S. and a global GTM marketing company, on the 2nd.
The CUE Air Washer is a product that redefines the conventional “filtration”-centered concept of air purifiers. Instead of trapping dust in disposable filters, it adopts a water-based air washing system. Through a water circulation process, it captures dust and airborne pollutants, and is designed to provide freshly cleaned air on a daily basis. By doing so, it reduces the burden of filter replacement and is drawing attention as a new alternative that addresses the limitations of conventional filter-based air purifiers, such as filter contamination buildup and waste generation.
In addition, the CUE Air Washer features a 2-in-1 structure that provides both air purification and humidification functions at the same time, helping create a more comfortable indoor environment. Because it does not require regular filter replacement, it is also said to improve long-term maintenance efficiency. Watervation explained that, during the development of this product, the company focused on addressing structural problems long associated with conventional air purifiers, including filter contamination, recurring replacement costs, and filter waste. By using water as a kind of “filter,” the company aims to present a more sustainable air purification solution.
Koo Joon-hoi, Director of the Project Group at SETOWORKS, which oversaw the project, stated, “Watervation’s CUE Air Washer is more than just a home appliance. It is a technology-driven product that offers a new solution to the structural limitations of conventional filter-based air purification.” He added, “It is especially meaningful that Korean innovation technology based on the principles of nature is receiving a rapid response in the global market.” He continued, “Crowdfunding is not simply a sales channel, but a testbed that allows companies to verify product competitiveness and consumer response in the global market in the fastest way possible. Starting from US Kickstarter and expanding to major representative platforms in each country such as Japan’s Makuake and Taiwan’s ZecZec, a one-stop global funding strategy plays an important role not only in initial market entry but also in production planning and profitability.”
SETOWORKS Group, based on its official and exclusive partnerships across three countries with major global crowdfunding platforms, including official Kickstarter Expert agency status in the US, Japan’s Makuake, Taiwan’s ZecZec, and China’s Modian, has managed more than 1,300 projects not as a simple collaborator or partial SNS marketer, but exclusively as a full-service, end-to-end operator.
SETOWORKS is Korea’s No. 1 global crowdfunding agency and a global GTM marketing company. Through its local entities in the United States, Japan, and Taiwan, it supports the entire process of global market entry, including global POC and GTM strategy consulting, overseas certifications, global content, global marketing, customer support (CS), and forwarding.
Meanwhile, a Watervation representative stated, “Building on this Kickstarter achievement, we plan to expand the application range of our technology beyond indoor air quality management into HVAC and industrial sectors, and present a new standard for air management in the global market.”
