Setoworks (CEO Cho Choong-yeon), an official Kickstarter partner, announced that the “CUE Air Washer” project by Watervation (CEO Jung Yoon-young), launched on the U.S. crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, successfully concluded its campaign with approximately USD 487,000 in funding.
The project attracted more than 1,300 global backers and maintained stable funding momentum through the end of the campaign, demonstrating sustained market demand beyond short-term hype. In particular, the campaign continued to show strong growth even during the mid-to-late stages, highlighting ongoing interest from global consumers.
The campaign’s success is being attributed not only to the product’s competitiveness, but also to the maker’s proactive operational strategy. Watervation CEO Jung Yoon-young reportedly secured key raw materials in advance and accelerated production preparations early on to mitigate risks associated with global supply chain uncertainty and raw material fluctuations.
Throughout the campaign, these preparations were transparently shared through project updates, receiving positive feedback from backers. The CUE Air Washer reimagines the conventional “filter-based” air purifier concept by adopting a water-based air washing structure. Instead of trapping dust inside disposable filters, the system captures airborne contaminants through water circulation and continuously delivers freshly washed air.
The product also integrates both air purification and humidification into a 2-in-1 structure, creating a more comfortable indoor environment while eliminating the need for periodic filter replacements. This approach has drawn attention as a new alternative that addresses the structural limitations of traditional filter-based air purifiers, including replacement costs and filter waste.

In preparation for the project, the team also established a U.S.-based local fulfillment strategy instead of relying on individual international air shipments, taking into consideration that Kickstarter’s primary customer base is located in the United States. Amid rising oil prices and increasing global logistics costs, reducing shipping fees and customs burdens through local distribution is believed to have positively contributed to the project’s growth.
Koo Jun-hoe, Director of the Project Group at Setoworks, stated, “The CUE Air Washer is a technology-driven product that reinterprets the limitations of traditional filter-based air purifiers, and it successfully demonstrated its competitiveness in the global market by maintaining stable growth through the end of the campaign.” He added, “Proactive production planning, localized fulfillment strategies in the U.S., and transparent communication all played important roles in building trust with backers.”
Setoworks Group supports more than 1,300 projects through full-service operations based on official and exclusive partnerships with major global crowdfunding platforms, including Kickstarter, Makuake, and ZecZec.
Meanwhile, Watervation announced plans to continue operating a Late Pledge program for a limited time after the campaign due to ongoing purchase inquiries and participation requests from consumers. The company noted that this reflects sustained global interest beyond the campaign itself.
A Watervation representative stated, “Through this Kickstarter project, we confirmed that global consumers are looking for a new alternative in the air purifier market,” adding, “We plan to continue strengthening our competitiveness in the global air quality management market through stable production, delivery, and ongoing product development.”
