Cumulative funding reaches NT$3 million as the company reviews local distribution potential
Segye Biz & Sports World Reporter Hwang Ji-hye | SETOWORKS, a global go-to-market (GTM) specialist led by CEO Cho Choong-yeon, announced on the 18th that the Cear Pavé project, a compact Bluetooth speaker currently being funded on Taiwan’s crowdfunding platform Zeczec, has reached NT$3 million in cumulative funding.
According to SETOWORKS, the company has decided to extend the campaign period by approximately one month, taking into account local demand and additional purchase inquiries.
For this project, SETOWORKS is serving as the Taiwan distributor and is responsible for local strategy development, funding page planning, marketing, customer support, and reward configuration. As overseas crowdfunding is increasingly used not only to test market response but also to design local distribution and follow-up sales strategies, the company is also reviewing opportunities to expand sales channels after the campaign.
Cear Pavé is a compact Bluetooth speaker that has sold more than 10,000 units in Japan. It features a palm-sized compact form factor and technology designed to create a spacious listening environment.
SETOWORKS has supported Korean companies’ Taiwan crowdfunding projects since forming a partnership with Zeczec in 2021. According to the company’s own tally, projects run on Zeczec have generated approximately KRW 9 billion in cumulative funding.
A SETOWORKS official said, “Taiwan crowdfunding requires more than translating a product detail page. It requires a comprehensive understanding of consumer purchasing behavior, platform operations, advertising response, and reward pricing structure.” The official added, “Through this project, we are operating a distributor-type crowdfunding model in the Taiwan market.”
During the extended campaign period, SETOWORKS plans to develop additional rewards, run local advertising, and expand reviews and hands-on content. After the campaign ends, the company plans to review ways to enter Taiwan’s retail market based on consumer response.
As more companies seek to convert post-campaign demand into sales after regular crowdfunding campaigns, the importance of post-campaign operations such as extended funding and late pledges is also growing in the crowdfunding industry. Watervation’s “CUE Air Washer” project, also managed by SETOWORKS, is currently running a late pledge campaign after completing its regular Kickstarter campaign. According to the company, its funding amount has increased from USD 480,000 at the end of the regular campaign to USD 540,000.
Lee Dong-wook, team lead of SETOWORKS’ Global Consulting Group, said, “Global crowdfunding needs to be designed beyond regular funding and connected to extended funding, late pledges, pledge managers, and retail conversion.” He added, “Based on our experience across major global platforms, we will continue to propose market entry strategies tailored to each product.”
