[Seoul = NewsPim] Reporter Oh Kyung-jin = SETOWORKS, a global go-to-market (GTM) specialist led by CEO Cho Choong-yeon, announced that it has been newly re-designated as a Professional Trading Company, a program jointly operated by Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea International Trade Association.
SETOWORKS, which was designated in 2023 as the first Professional Trading Company in the crowdfunding industry, will continue to hold the status for three years from July 1 to June 30, 2029 through this re-designation, maintaining its Professional Trading Company qualification for six consecutive years.
The Professional Trading Company designation is a system under Korea’s Foreign Trade Act that certifies trade-specialized companies with export performance and overseas market development capabilities to support exports by SMEs and mid-sized companies. Designated companies are provided with various incentives, including discounts on short-term export insurance from Korea Trade Insurance Corporation, free overseas buyer credit investigation support from KOTRA, and additional points for overseas branch support programs.
Since 2016, SETOWORKS has carried out more than 1,300 projects, including those of its subsidiaries, based on global crowdfunding, and recently surpassed KRW 60 billion in cumulative crowdfunding volume. The company also provides comprehensive GTM solutions that connect global B2B platforms such as Alibaba, cross-border B2C channels including Amazon, Rakuten, and Shopee, and overseas buyer discovery.
SETOWORKS currently serves as an official Kickstarter Expert partner in the United States, an official Makuake partner in Japan, and the exclusive Korean partner of Zeczec in Taiwan. Recently, the company also launched LaunchFitKS, an AI-based Kickstarter launch diagnostic service using accumulated data.
Cho Choong-yeon, CEO of SETOWORKS, said, “This re-designation as a Professional Trading Company recognizes the results we have achieved in continuously supporting Korean companies’ global exports.” He added, “We will continue to advance our one-stop GTM solutions based on data and AI so that Korean SMEs and mid-sized companies can establish themselves in overseas markets at lower cost.”
Meanwhile, the 2026 Professional Trading Company designation ceremony will be held on July 8 at Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas. The event will include the presentation of designation certificates and ministerial commendations for outstanding companies.
