SETOWORKS, a global go-to-market (GTM) specialist led by CEO Cho Chung-youn, announced that it has been invited to the 2nd KOREA SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISE EXHIBITION, which will be held from July 22 to 24 at Exhibition Hall 1 of SETEC in Seoul, where it will deliver a special lecture on overseas crowdfunding and provide export consultations.
The expo is hosted by Maeil Business Newspaper and the Korea Regional Newspaper Association, organized by Korea Exhibition Industry Institute, and supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Federation of SMEs.
SETOWORKS Executive Director Cho Beom-jin will give a special lecture at 3:50 p.m. on July 24, the final day of the expo, under the theme “The Real Strategy of Global Crowdfunding: Funding Flows from Kickstarter to Japan and Taiwan, and How to Find the Jackpot Country for Each Product.” The lecture begins from the perspective that, rather than following the conventional belief that overseas expansion should start with the United States, each product has its own “jackpot country” where it can generate the strongest response depending on product characteristics and local consumer preferences. The session will compare the user bases and consumer tendencies of Kickstarter in the United States, Makuake in Japan, and Zeczec in Taiwan, and present criteria for selecting the right country and platform for each product.
In addition to the special lecture, SETOWORKS will operate Booth A7 in Exhibition Hall 1 throughout the three-day expo. Professional GTM consultants will be stationed at the booth, allowing any visitor to receive consultations on the most suitable target countries and platforms for their products, as well as overseas sales channel development.
“Even for the same product, results can vary completely depending on which country it is introduced in and which GTM approach is used,” said Executive Director Cho Beom-jin. “We will help companies apply the criteria presented in the lecture directly to their own products at the booth so they can identify the market best suited to them.”
SETOWORKS is a Professional Trading Company designated by Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and has served for six consecutive years as an export voucher service provider. It is the only global crowdfunding specialist with official partnerships with all three major global crowdfunding platforms: Kickstarter in the United States, Makuake in Japan, and Zeczec in Taiwan. To date, the company has carried out more than 1,300 global crowdfunding projects, the largest number in Korea, and surpassed approximately USD 40.6 million (KRW 60 billion) in cumulative funding, including subsidiaries.
