PRESS RELEASETaiga's ‘Moss Air' raises $540,000 on US Kickstarter

4 Sep 2023

Taiga's Moss Air, an air purifying humidifier that utilizes live moss, has been recognized as a global item.

On the 4th, Setoworks (CEO Cho Chung-yeon), a global funding agency, announced that the recent funding campaign for Taiga's 'Moss Air' through Kickstarter in the United States has been successfully concluded, exceeding $540,000 (KRW 730 million).

This achievement is significant in that it was achieved by being listed as a 'Project We Love' along with the steady promotion of eco-friendly products since its launch in early July, and the cumulative amount exceeded the original goal by more than 19,962%, gathering 3674 backers.

This is expected to lead directly to the global export momentum of Moss Air, a product selected as a '2023 Global Crowdfunding Support Project' by the Gyeonggi-do Business Science Agency (GBSA), as well as the recent establishment of a frost moss cultivation farm in Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, which will enhance the business diversification potential of Taiga, a specialized company that develops air purification products and building materials based on moss.

"We were able to appeal to backers with our unprecedented natural air purification and excellent interior effects," said Beomjin Cho, Director of Seto Works. "We focused on localization and optimization in all aspects of the campaign, from filming videos that fit the characteristics of the product and the host country to creating a landing page, story structure, and marketing, so that the appeal of Mossair could be well conveyed to global consumers, and I think this led to good results."

"Based on the success of Moss Air's Kickstarter, we plan to launch Indiegogo Indemnity in the U.S., Makuake in Japan, Zeczek in Taiwan, and Wadiz in Korea as a one-stop funding platform within the year," Cho said.

Meanwhile, Setoworks is an official implementing agency for export vouchers and innovation vouchers and an official global funding partner of various domestic organizations such as KOTRA and SBA, and has conducted global crowdfunding in six countries with a 100% in-house system, achieving more than 600 projects and cumulative funding amount (over KRW 24 billion), the most in Korea, through 40 project experts in six countries.
